So, after the long introduction, I’d like to ask your opinion in terms of license. ![]() ![]() That said, I think Octane still delivers some of the best renders out of the box: the grain, the bokeh, the lights, they all feel more photographic to me. What I didn’t like about Octane (this was about 6 years ago) were the constant crashes, the bugs, the limits when using big textures, and the multi-pass system. Things got more stagnant, and overall, I miss the look I used to get from Octane. That said, I’ve grown tired of the latest updates. In terms of quality, though, I always preferred Arnold, Vray, and Octane, but since most of the work I do is motion graphics related anyway, the look didn’t bother me much. ![]() I enjoyed it at the beginning, especially for its speed, and for the fact that it’s production-friendly. I’ve been using Redshift for a few years now. ![]()
